Does Medicare Part B pay for prescription drugs?

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) generally does not cover most prescription drugs used at home, but it does cover a limited number of outpatient prescription drugs under limited conditions. Generally, drugs covered under Part B are drugs you wouldn't usually give to yourself, like those you get at a doctor's office or hospital outpatient setting. Drugs not covered under Part B may be covered under Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D). If you have Part D, check your plan's formulary to see what outpatient drugs are covered.

Examples of drugs covered by Part B include: drugs used with an item of durable medical equipment; some antigens; injectable osteoporosis drugs; erythropoisis–stimulating agents; shots including flu shots, pneumococcal shots and Hepatitis B shots; oral cancer drugs and more.

Although I am able to walk, I have difficulty a difficult time walking long distances. Would Medicare allow payment for a wheelchair or Power Operated Vehicle (POV)?

Medicare wheelchair and POV coverage guidelines indicate that in order to allow payment for a wheelchair, a person with Medicare must be bed or chair-confined without the use of a wheelchair.

Furthermore in terms of POV all of the following criteria must be met:
You require a wheelchair to maneuver in your home;
You cannot operate a manual wheelchair;
You can safely operate the controls of a POV;
You can transfer safely to and from a POV and have adequate trunk stability to safely ride in a POV

You need a prescription from your physician prior to purchasing the POV, and the physician and supplier must complete a Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN).
