U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt. 

“Today’s Supreme Court decision reaffirms every woman’s constitutional right to respect, compassion, and dignity in making her own health decisions. It is an important victory for women in Texas and across the country, who would have been forced to drive hundreds of miles and wait weeks for an appointment to simply get the care they need. Now we must ensure that every woman – no matter where they live or how much they earn – can get comprehensive, safe, quality health care when they need it. A woman’s health decisions are her own, in consultation with her family, her doctor, and her faith, and that right should not be undermined.”
