Coronavirus update: April 5, 2020

Here is an update for Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Thought of the day: If we don’t stay at home, stop mingling, even with one other person from outside your home, things will not get better. Michigan is the next Ground Zero. We have to prepare accordingly and do all we can to defeat this virus.

The White House said they expect Wayne and Oakland counties to hit peak caseloads next weekend. We need to make sure we stay inside and don’t go outside unless you must buy groceries and get your prescriptions. You can take a walk but keep your distance, wear a homemade mask and be smart. We all hate to say it, but things will get worst before they get better.

Did a CNN hit last night. What is wonderful about doing CNN is the people in your life who you haven’t heard from in a long, long time reach out, check in. A silver lining in all of this is the old friends who remind you they are still part of your life. Zoom meetings and the new beat of life goes on.

Thank you to the healthcare workers, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, teachers, safety personal, mail carriers, mental health workers, takeout cooks, food deliverers, and so many more. We are all so grateful for all you do.

Make a vet smile! There’s lot of veterans homes right now that don’t allow visitors. Its tough to see but it’s what we must do to prevent the spread fo the virus. The Michigan government launched this initiative where you can write a letter or record a video of yourself saying something uplifting to a veteran. After you record and upload your video to social media or youtube, email the link to DMVA-MIVeteranHomes@michigan.gov. All it takes is a cellphone and a few minutes out of your day to show your appreciation for our veterans’ service and sacrifice! If you want to send a letter you can send them to the below!
