Dingell on Biden Equity Executive Orders
Washington,
January 26, 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) today released the following statement celebrating President Joe Biden’s Executive Order On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government. “Lived and legal equity for communities of color has long been promised in this nation, but still has not been delivered,” said Congresswoman Dingell. “Today, the Biden Administration will act to engrain equity throughout our federal government, invest in demographic data collection so we can better understand the challenge ahead of us, and reform policing, prisons, and public housing. Beyond those critical measures, he is sending a clear message that the bigotry targeted towards Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders must end immediately. But this is only the beginning of our work. Congress must pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, as well as other policies to end stubborn inequities woven throughout our economic, housing, health care, and education systems.” To read the Biden Administration’s Equity Executive Order, please click here. ### |
