Dingell Elected Democratic Policy and Communications Committee Chair
WASHINGTON,
April 16, 2024
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) today was elected by her colleagues to serve as Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC). Dingell will serve with Co-Chairs Reps. Veronica Escobar (TX-16), Lauren Underwood (IL-14), and Lori Trahan (MA-03).
“It’s an honor to join Representatives Lauren Underwood, Veronica Escobar, and Lori Trahan on the DPCC, and I thank my colleagues for their support. They have done great work, along with Former Chair and Assistant Leader Joe Neguse, to help our Caucus communicate with Americans across the country and demonstrate the work Democrats are doing to put people over politics,” Dingell said. “I look forward to working with them, with the rest of our leadership, and with every member of this Caucus to show that Democrats are delivering results. As the Republican Conference chooses chaos, we are united in our commitment to lower everyday costs for working families, expand access to health care and childcare, protect our Democracy, and strengthen our national security.” “At home in Michigan, I spend every weekend in union halls, schools, chambers of commerce, farmers markets, and community events to meet with people of all backgrounds and discuss the issues keeping them up at night,” Dingell continued. “I look forward to bringing these important perspectives from the Heartland to leadership and ensuring the voices of all members of our party are heard.” “As a previous Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, Congresswoman Dingell is a battle-tested and highly effective leader who understands how to communicate with simplicity, repetition and heart,” Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said. “Debbie is a tremendous advocate for the people of Michigan and I look forward to working with her as the Chair of the DPCC for the remainder of this Congress. We will work closely with the rest of the Democratic Leadership team to combat MAGA extremism and deliver real results for everyday Americans.” |
