Dingell Holds Roundtable With Auto Suppliers to Discuss Future of Auto Industry

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) held a roundtable with MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association, at Forvia’s R&D facility in Northville. She was joined by representatives from Forvia, MEMA, BorgWarner, Denso, and ZF to discuss the industry’s challenges, concerns, and successes.

“Our auto industry in Michigan creates thousands of jobs across the country, and it’s critical we continue to invest in American workers and industry. Today we discussed labor shortages and workforce challenges, critical materials and supply chain gaps, rising costs, the shifting automotive landscape and the transition to electric vehicles, connected vehicle technology, privacy, and cybersecurity, and remaining competitive in our global marketplace, among other things,” Dingell said. “We will continue to work together and I’m working in Congress to make sure we’re supporting our domestic auto industry and the communities that have built their lives around the auto industry.”
