“We have witnessed unprecedented disasters due to weather events in recent years, devastating communities across America. These events underscore the critical need to support, not slash, the hard-working employees at the NOAA. Their work keeps our communities safe through essential research and early warning systems for severe weather events, which millions of Americans depend on. Their vital scientific research supports marine commerce, conservation, and our overall environmental health. Firing hundreds of experts and scientists at NOAA will endanger American lives going forward. Once again, this administration has prioritized their political agenda over the well-being of Americans and the health of our oceans and Great Lakes.”
