Dingell Announces Grant for Trenton Fire Department

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today announced that the Trenton Fire Department will receive a $180,662 grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. The funding will help firefighters and first responders obtain critically needed equipment and other resources. “Our firefighters and first responders put themselves in harm’s way every day to keep our communities safe,” said Dingell. “This funding will help ensure they have the most up-to-date equipment to save lives and do their job protecting our community.” The AFG program awards grants directly to fire departments and EMS organizations that are unaffiliated with a hospital to enhance their response capabilities and to more effectively protect the health and safety of the public and emergency response personnel with respect to fire and other emergencies. |
