Department of State - Visas

Before making arrangements to visit a foreign country, please visit the Department of State's website to review safety information and entry requirements for the countries you intend to visit.

When planning international travel, U.S. citizens may be required to obtain a visa issued by the embassy of the country/countries they wish to visit. Find information on visa requirements by country here.

Travelers may use the Department of State's Visa Wizard to determine what type of visa is appropriate for them.
