U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) released the following statement after the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report detailing the impact of Republican’s latest proposal to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“Today’s CBO report confirms that the American people have everything to lose from Republicans’ plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This plan does not reduce costs or improve access to healthcare for the American people. Instead, it rips health insurance away from 23 million Americans and increases costs and weakens protections for millions more. This bill takes a sledgehammer to protections for pre-existing conditions and ends Healthy Michigan, which has extended coverage to nearly 700,000 people in our state. This is about people, not politics, and I urge my Republican colleagues to stop and consider the devastating impact on the families they represent before rushing forward with this dangerous bill.”
