Dingell Blasts Trump Administration’s Roll Back of Water Pollution Standards

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) condemned the Trump Administration finalized plans to roll back protections for wetlands and clean water: “Growing up on the river, I remember swimming in dirty water and not being able to eat the fish we caught. John Dingell drafted the Clean Water Act to protect public health and conserve natural areas for future generations. We must always build on that progress and keep moving forward. Trump and his EPA’s plan to scrap protections for waterways that feed into our rivers, lakes, bays, and coastal waters is disastrous. Congress must urgently consider legislation to protect waterways, enshrine the Clean Water Act, and move the needle forward on environmental protection.” ### |
