WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) issued the following statement on the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to be an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court: “This seat isn’t about one person, or about a seat on the Supreme Court – it’s about healthcare. At every turn, the Republicans have been working to take healthcare away from millions of Americans, and time and time again, the majority of the American people have rebuked these efforts. Still, this administration is in court at this very moment to destroy the Affordable Care Act, which would rip away protections for pre-existing conditions, cease efforts to bring down out-of-pocket costs, and impact millions of Americans. Senate Republicans are disregarding precedent and the will of the people, against their own stated values, to ensure this effort is successful and place millions of Americans at risk, and in doing so they will undermine the integrity of the highest court in the land.” ### |
