Dingell Statement on COVID Relief Package
Washington,
December 21, 2020
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) today released the following statement after voting for the COVID-19 relief package. “Even though this package is far from perfect and these stimulus payments aren’t nearly enough, this compromise will provide a down payment for the businesses and families who shouldn’t have had to wait this long for relief,” said Congresswoman Dingell. “In the new year, we will have a new President who will immediately develop a national plan to defeat this pandemic and rebuild our economy. Under the leadership of President-elect Biden, we can address the shortcomings of this relief package with robust state and local aid, support for restaurants, livable survival checks, a longer term eviction moratorium, rental relief, and much more. Today, we will pass this bill and immediately get back to work for the American people.” ###
