Dingell, Moore, Beatty and Levin Highlight What Midwesterners are Saying About the American Rescue Plan

House Dems have used District Work Period to let Constituents know Help Is Here after Passing the American Rescue Plan To Get Shots in Arms, Money in Pockets, Kids in Schools and People in Jobs

DEARBORN, MI - Today, Democratic Policy & Communications Committee Co-Chair Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Representatives Gwen Moore (WI-04), Joyce Beatty (OH-03) and Andy Levin (MI-09) highlighted what they’ve been hearing from their constituents about the impact of the American Rescue Plan.  Dingell, Moore, Beatty and Levin have spent the District Work Period holding events for their constituents to help Midwesterners understand how to access vital resources in the American Rescue Plan to get shots in arms, money in pockets, kids in schools and people in jobs.

“Michiganders are finally getting some relief after a devastating year, and we continue to work hard to improve the vaccine supply in Michigan’s 12th District,” said Representative Debbie Dingell. “The American Rescue Plan has provided us the critical resources needed to do just that, bringing steady improvements to get our economy back on track and crush this virus.”

“I appreciated the opportunity to join my colleagues this morning to discuss the American Rescue Plan. The pandemic has only magnified the inequities our communities face, and this law begins to take steps to address these inequities and truly build back better,” said Rep. Moore.

“The American Rescue Plan is all about meeting the magnitude of the moment for my constituents because lives and livelihoods are on the line. This landmark, life-changing piece of legislation is putting dollars into families pockets, getting people back to work, returning children and teachers safely to the classroom, improving vaccine distribution, and strengthening our economy so that we can continue to build back better—all while crushing the virus. The Biden-Harris Administration and Congressional Democrats pledged real relief to the people and small businesses who need it most. The American Rescue Plan makes good on that promise. Help is here,” said Rep. Beatty.

“We’re not going to reverse this latest surge of cases and hospitalizations in Michigan without all of us doing our part to stop the spread, that is so much easier to ask of folks when we can see the finish line in sight,” said Rep. Levin. “Thank goodness Joe Biden worked swiftly with Democrats in Congress to pass the American Rescue Plan, which truly meets the moment. Education is the starting point of change, and there is much to learn about this package. In five Facebook Live events, I have been joined by dynamic guests and a plugged-in public to explore how the ARP turbocharges the public health response and vaccine program, lifts millions out of poverty, expand access to affordable health care and more.”
