Dingell, Clark Visit Ann Arbor Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Sites, Emphasize Importance of Investing in EV Infrastructure and the Domestic Supply Chain

ANN ARBOR, MI - Today, Representative Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Assistant Speaker Representative Katherine Clark (MA-05) toured New Eagle and Nimbus in Ann Arbor, both domestic manufacturers and innovators of electric vehicles, auto technology, and components, emphasizing the need to invest in the future of mobility while strengthening the American supply chain.

“If we are serious about boosting the American supply chain, keeping good-paying jobs here at home, and combating climate change, we need to support our local suppliers and ensure strong federal policies and strategic investments in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure,” said Dingell. “I am grateful for companies like New Eagle and Nimbus in the 12th District for their commitment to these goals. Rep. Clark and I will continue fighting for strong investments in the Build Back Better agenda to keep America at the forefront of innovation and technology, while addressing the climate crisis and enhancing domestic manufacturing.”

“American talent and innovation are leading the way as we work to combat the climate crisis and Michigan is a shining example of how we can save our planet while creating great, clean jobs. I am honored to see firsthand how companies like New Eagle and Nimbus are bringing this vision to life,” said Clark. “House Democrats have delivered historic investments through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill for the Electric Vehicle industry, and we are poised to supercharge that commitment to high-paying, green jobs across America through the Build Back Better Act. I’m thankful to Rep. Dingell for championing these issues in Washington and Michigan, and am eager to continue our partnership on behalf of a strong economy and sustainable future.”

New Eagle specializes in mechatronic control systems – or the electronics behind mechanical systems – and uses Raptor software tools and secure supply chain offerings to provide the resources needed to create scalable systems fast using efficient and reliable embedded model-based development. Nimbus is a company working to make cities greener, more equitable, and less congested. Having been working on electric vehicles since the 1980s, Nimbus innovates to reduce emissions and help people get around easier with its innovative Halo, an electric, enclosed motorcycle.
