Dingell Votes to Build Back Better, Urges Senate to Invest in Hard-working Families

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) voted to pass the Build Back Better Act and invest in hard-working American families. The bill now awaits further consideration in the U.S. Senate. Dingell released the following statement on this historic vote:

“We can’t wait another second to put hard-working American families first. We’re still in the midst of a pandemic, many of our communities lack access to clean water, we’re experiencing climate change in real time, and we need to act now to invest in the future of this country. Building back better means protecting the economy, keeping the United States as a world leader, creating and protecting American jobs in Michigan and across the country, bringing our supply chain back home, getting lead out of our drinking water pipes, and strengthening a care economy that supports seniors, people with disabilities, and care workers, and protecting our environment at the same time. There’s too much at stake here to not invest in the rebuilding of our nation. I’m thankful to Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer for their leadership throughout this process, and I strongly urge my Senate colleagues to think about their constituents and how each of these programs will help them succeed. I’ve said it more than once, and I’ll continue saying it until we get this done – failure is not an option.”
