WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) issued the following statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade: 
 
“I am stunned and scared. Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court immediately jeopardizes the health of women all across the country. This is a personal, medical decision that should be made between a woman, her doctor, and her faith. For the Supreme Court to determine that women should no longer have autonomy over their bodies in unconscionable, cruel, and wrong. 
 
“Now the door is open for states to strip women of this fundamental freedom. In Michigan, this ruling could have an immediate impact on women and families. I stand by Governor Whitmer and all who are fighting to protect a woman’s right to choose. 
 
“Reproductive care is healthcare. And healthcare is a human right. Today, the Supreme Court callously ripped that human right away from millions of people in this country. But trust me, this isn’t the end. Today, we fight back. Tomorrow, we fight even harder. You will find me with a movement united at the Supreme Court and all over Michigan demanding these rights be enshrined in our laws.”
