Dingell Announces Nearly $2.6 Million for Addiction Research Programs

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today announced $2,595,392 in federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services for drug abuse and addiction research programs in Ann Arbor. The University of Michigan will receive $2,339,396, and Altality Inc. will receive $255,996.

“Addiction is a cruel disease, and far too many people suffer silently without seeking or being able to access the help they deserve. I’m proud to bring this federal funding to programs that will help us better understand how we can combat addiction and treat those who are suffering. I have witnessed firsthand the pain and tragedy of addiction and know that this research will help in the effort to protect families and save lives.
