Dingell Announces $2.8 Million for American Center for Mobility for EV Infrastructure Testing
YPSILANTI, Mich.,
July 31, 2024
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) today announced the American Center for Mobility in Ypsilanti will receive $2,840,325 from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Lab (NETL) through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for an electric vehicle charging and interoperability test bed for scaling electric vehicles.
"The future of transportation is electric, but we will not get there if we don’t do what is necessary to make EVs practical and accessible to more Americans, and ensure we’re researching, developing, and manufacturing EV technology here in America," said Dingell. "This funding from DOE will allow the American Center for Mobility to continue increasing EV charging infrastructure, furthering Southeast Michigan’s leadership as we move into the future of the auto industry.” The American Center for Mobility offers a one-of-a-kind global development center to transform the way industries advance safe, sustainable, and secure mobility technologies.
