Dingell Volunteers with Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels

YPSILANTI, MI – Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) volunteered with Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors.

“For some homebound seniors, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels is the only way they’re able to eat and live healthy, independent lives—a job that became even more important as the pandemic kept people home and drove a surge in food insecurity across Michigan and across the country,” said Dingell. “For many homebound seniors, Meals on Wheels is more than just a meal—it’s a chance to live independently, keep food on the table, and have a meaningful conversation with someone who truly cares. Meals on Wheels offers hope to so many throughout our community, and I will continue working to protect this vital program our seniors count on.”

Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels delivers more than 10,000 meals per month to homebound persons 60 years or older, or adults with disabilities, who are unable to shop or prepare meals for themselves.
