Dingell Announces More Than $24.4 Million in HHS Grants for the University of Michigan

 Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) today announced that the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor will receive $24,490,327 in federal grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to conduct research in areas including Mental Health, Aging, Cancer Biology, Mothers and Children, Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation, Neurological Disorders, Medical Library Assistance, Human Genome, Heart and Vascular Diseases, Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic, Alcohol Programs, Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases Research, Cancer Treatment, Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry.

"This funding is crucial to continue research in important fields including aging," Dingell said. "The research taking place at UM will help advance our understanding of how to best support aging Americans and the unique challenges they face.”

$1,529,365 for Research for Mothers and Children 
$1,238,740 for Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation Research
$1,789,314 for Clinical Research Related to Neurological Disorders
$150,000 for Medical Library Assistance
$358,755 for Human Genome Research
$735,856 for Heart and Vascular Diseases Research
$2,148,996 for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Research
$409,498 for Alcohol Research Programs
$682,658 for Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases Research
$624,980 for Cancer Treatment Research
$1,641,633 for Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry Research
