In keeping with Dingell tradition, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) today released the annual Dingell Jingle, in the style of "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (The Night Before Christmas).
 
‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the House
Not even the Freedom Caucus are acting like louse
 
Bills have been brought to the floor with care
In hopes that bipartisan agreement soon would be there
 
We sit through another markup with dread
While visions of flights home dance in our heads
 
To Speaker McCarthy we said goodbye
Scalise, Jordan, and Emmer all had their try
 
For three weeks not a speaker to hire
Meanwhile government funding might expire
 
In horror Democrats watched the disarray
And Speaker Mike Johnson emerged from the fray
                              
When out in the hallway arose such a clatter
Republicans fighting is what’s the matter
 
Tensions rose high when 10 straight weeks we did go
We heard about fights and a nudge with an elbow
 
We try and try to craft legislation that will pass
But some are focused on TV hits and soundbites with sass
 
Division and partisanship are all that appear
But this month we all can agree on holiday cheer
 
We’ll continue to work on coming together
Take a break and hope next year will be better.
