Dingell Announces More Than $36 Million in HHS Grants for the University of Michigan

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06) today announced that the University of Michigan will receive $36,124,955 in federal grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to conduct research in areas including pharmacology, physiology, and biological chemistry, cancer treatment and biology, heart and vascular diseases, arthritis, musculoskeletal and skin diseases, and other areas.

More than $3.4 million of this funding will be dedicated to cancer treatment research.

"As co-chair of the Bipartisan Cancer Prevention Caucus, I work with colleagues across the aisle to support education and awareness efforts, and advance policies to support research and funding to further cancer treatment," said Dingell. "This funding for UM will help further cancer treatment research and improve treatment options, providing hope to patients and their families."
