Congresswoman Dingell on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Address to Congress
Washington, DC,
March 3, 2015
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) released the following statement in advance of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address before a joint session of Congress. “I disagree strongly with the way this invitation was extended. When asked about the speech a month ago, I said the way the invitation was delivered was inappropriate and a breach of diplomatic protocol. I will attend the address because one has a responsibility to listen to world leaders and hear what they have to say. But I continue to believe that the circumstances surrounding this speech have created a political sideshow that detracts from the real discussion at hand - how we best protect the security of our country and our allies around the world." |
