When U.S. Rep Debbie Dingell (D-12th District) decided to have local students make valentines for veterans in February, she had no idea what that would become.

Now three months later, her rebanded “Sending Smiles to Vets,” program has turned into a year-round programs aimed at helping keep veterans happy.

“Too many of the men and women at our local VA hospitals cannot be outside to enjoy this warmer weather,” said Dingell. “We need your help to bring cheer indoors and remind our veterans how much we love and appreciate them.”
