Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) issued the following statement after voting against both immigration bills before the House of Representatives:

“Our country’s immigration system is broken. Families are being torn apart at the border, and for years farmers, our hospitality industry, and businesses have struggled to get the workers they need. We must commit to work in a bipartisan manner on comprehensive immigration reform that secures our borders, respects families, provides permanent protections for Dreamers, helps employers, and provides a pathway to citizenship for immigrants living and contributing to our country. It is hard, but we must do it. The two bills that we have seen this week do not accomplish that.”
