Rep. Dingell & Librarian of Congress Dr. Carla Hayden to Host Story Time at Taylor Community Library

In celebration of March as National Reading Month, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Librarian of Congress Dr. Carla Hayden will visit the Taylor Community Library tomorrow, March 24th to host a special story time and craft making event for children in the community. The story time event is free and open to the public. During the visit, Rep. Dingell and Dr. Hayden will present Taylor Community Library Director Theresa Powers with books from the Library of Congress’ Surplus Books Program to help build the library’s collection. Dr. Hayden is the 14th Librarian of Congress, nominated by President Barack Obama in February 2016. She is the first woman and first African American to lead the national library and has made it a priority to expand educational programming to schools and libraries throughout the country.
