The News-Herald: Dingell deliver’s thousands of handmade Valentine’s to local veterans

The News-Herald

U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-12) took her first local project since being elected by storm. Along with the help of local elementary school students in the district she made and distributed more than 2,000 Valentine’s Day cards to local veterans.

Dingell, along with her staff, family and friends made stops at several area veteran’s hospitals to distribute the well wishes and cards throughout the district.

"The valentines drawn by children and residents from the 12th District and across the state were unique, artistic, precious and heart-warming," Dingell said. "They brought a smile to faces and cheer to sterile rooms, and it's important that we continue to find ways to show the men and women who served our country that we’re thinking of them, we love them, and we’ll never forget their service and sacrifice.”
