Dingell Announces $289,297 in Federal Arts Funding for the 12th District

DEARBORN, MI - Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) announced $289,297 in federal National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) funding for seven creative economy organizations in Michigan’s 12th Congressional District. The NEA has awarded 44 direct grants throughout the 12th District, totaling nearly $1.2 million over the past six years.

“Arts and culture are part of the fabric that binds our communities together, inspires people of all ages, brings joy to families, and powers our local economies,” said Congresswoman Dingell. “With this critical federal funding, especially amidst a raging pandemic, we will help local organizations from Ann Arbor to Dearborn strengthen their programs and open doors of opportunities for so many of our neighbors.”

Grant recipients:

  • Ann Arbor Film Festival received a $20,000 media arts grant;
  • Dzanc Books received a $10,000 literary arts grant;
  • Kerrytown Concert House, Inc. received a $15,000 music arts grant;
  • University Musical Society received a $40,000 presenting and multidisciplinary works grant;
  • University of Michigan received a $20,000 design grant and $149,297 research lab grant;
  • ACCESS received a $35,000 museums grant.
