Congresswoman Debbie Dingell Comments on the President’s Visit to Michigan Auto Plant
Washington, DC,
January 7, 2015
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today accompanied the President on his visit to the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne. Dingell has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and is the past chair of the Manufacturing Initiative of the American Automotive Policy Council. Following the President's visit, Congresswoman Dingell released the following statement: “It was a great honor for the people of Michigan to host the President today as he highlighted the growth of the domestic auto industry. The auto industry is the backbone of our state’s economy, and a true success story. Thanks to critical policies such as the Auto Recovery Act – and the sheer grit and determination of the American auto workers – the industry has come roaring back to life, and I’m committed to ensuring that it stays that way. I will be working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to strengthen manufacturing, create new jobs and continue to grow the economy in Michigan and across the country.” |
