Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) stated tonight that the State of Michigan’s announced support for the American Center for Mobility (ACM) at the former Willow Run plant is a significant step toward ensuring southeast Michigan stays in the driver’s seat in automotive technology: “This investment from the State of Michigan is another significant step in keeping Michigan at the forefront of advanced vehicle technology. We want to make sure that we’re developing the technology of the future here in Michigan, and connected and automated vehicles have the potential to revolutionize transportation over the next decade. This investment shows that the state will continue to lead the way in research, development and deployment of these new technologies, and we will continue to work with leaders in both state and federal government, the auto industry, the University of Michigan, and other stakeholders to move this project forward. This is one of my top priorities.” |
